Mumbai Indians, five-time IPL champions, have announced the signing of Afghanistan’s Mujeeb Ur Rahman as a replacement for Allah Ghazanfar, who has been ruled out of IPL 2025 due to a back injury. Ghazanfar, who suffered a fracture in his L4 vertebra during Afghanistan’s recent tour to Zimbabwe, will also miss the upcoming Champions Trophy.
The 18-year-old Ghazanfar’s injury leaves a gap in Mumbai’s squad, and the team is now welcoming Mujeeb, one of Afghanistan’s brightest cricket talents. Mujeeb, who made his IPL debut at 17, is known for his remarkable skills and has played over 300 T20 matches, taking 330 wickets at an impressive economy rate of 6.5.
