The Nagdhunga–Naubise road section at Piplamod will remain closed for an additional five days starting Monday due to ongoing construction and road improvement works.
Previously, the road was closed from Jestha 10 to Jestha 25 (May 23–June 8) for 4.5 hours daily to allow roadworks. Since the work was not completed, officials have extended the closure for another five days at the same time.
Final Blacktopping Underway
According to Keshav Prasad Ojha, Chief of the Eastern Section of the Nagdhunga-Muglin road project, only 1 km of blacktopping remains from the Nagdhunga checkpoint. The Jhyaple Khola section (100 meters) will not be blacktopped, while the 2.2 km stretch from Nagdhunga-Sisnekhola tunnel towards Kathmandu has already been completed.
Use Alternative Routes
The project office has requested all vehicles to use alternative routes during this period:
- Sitapaila–Ramkot–Dharke road for small and medium vehicles
- Samakhusi–Tokha–Chhahare–Trishuli–Galchhi road for access from northern regions
Vehicles from various districts heading to Kathmandu will be halted at Khanikhola in Dhading.
