Nepali actor Najir Husen is set to break new ground in the film industry by playing the role of a transgender woman in his upcoming movie Gunyo Cholo. The film, which highlights the struggles and identity of Nepal’s transgender community, is slated to release on Bhadra 13.
First song ‘Ma Phool Hu Ki Kaanda’ released
During a launch event held in Kathmandu on Tuesday, the makers unveiled the film’s first song titled Ma Phool Hu Ki Kaanda. In the music video, Nazir is seen dressed like a bride, dancing with grace and intensity. His expressions are a blend of femininity and hidden pain—delivering a powerful performance that’s both beautiful and heartbreaking. To fully embody the character, Nazir lost about 16 kg.
Dance choreography and cast
The emotional track is choreographed by Kamal Rai, and features performances by Sushil Sitoula, Uttam KC, late Sanu Tamrakar, and Shishir Rana. The song is penned and composed by Lekhu Sahayatri, with vocals by Manisha Pokharel.

Directed by Samundra Bhatt, the movie features Sanchita Luitel as Nazir’s on-screen mother and Nisha Bajgai, a journalist, as his sister. The cast also includes Bishal Pahari and Anupam Shrestha in important roles, making it a well-rounded ensemble.
