The Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC) has clinched the National Hockey Championship in the women’s category after remaining unbeaten throughout the tournament. TAC dominated the competition and secured the title with a 3-0 victory over Gandaki Province in their final league-stage match.
Tournament Standings and Prize Money
With that win, TAC topped the points table with a perfect 9 points. Gandaki Province, who suffered their only loss against Army, finished in second place. Madhesh Province claimed third place, while Bagmati ended up fourth in the four-team competition.
The top three teams received prize money of Rs 75,000, Rs 50,000, and Rs 25,000, respectively.
Individual Awards and Standout Performers
Army’s Kamala Chand emerged as the highest goal scorer of the National Hockey Championship, scoring five goals. Her teammate, Nilima Pandey, was named the best player of the tournament for her outstanding performances throughout.
Madhesh Province’s Khusbu Kumari was awarded the emerging player of the tournament. From Gandaki Province, Anisha Thapa Magar was recognized as the best goalkeeper, while Sonu Baral was awarded the best defender.
