Ncell Barakhari Golf 2025: Dorje Hozangstang Shines Bright

The 8th edition of the ‘Ncell Barakhari Golf‘ tournament concluded on Saturday at the Gokarna Golf Course in Kathmandu with Dorje Hozangstang emerging as the champion.

Dorje secured a total of 44 points in the 18-hole Stableford format event. He collected 25 points in the front nine and 19 points in the back nine to clinch the title and the prestigious Golden Ball award.

Top Performers in Different Categories

Rajendra Shrestha finished second with 43 points. In the senior category (60 years and above), Bhairaju Pandey claimed the title by scoring 35 points.

Aarti Rajyalaxmi Rana bagged the women’s title with 23 points, narrowly beating Arshiya Banu who scored 22 points.

Nischajang Rayamajhi won the Best Gross title with 39 points. Norbu Chhiring Sherpa hit seven birdies to win the Most Birdies award. Dorje Hozangstang also won the Closest to the Pin title and missed out on a brand-new BYD Atto 3 car for a hole-in-one by just two feet.

Asmang Karki claimed the Longest Drive title with a drive of approximately 258 yards.

Diverse Participation and Bigger Goals

A total of 96 golfers, including both men and women, participated in the tournament. The event also saw international participants from India, USA, China, Singapore, and Sri Lanka, along with diplomats from various embassies in Nepal.

During the prize distribution, Barakhari.com’s Editor-in-Chief, Pratik Pradhan, shared the vision behind organizing the event, highlighting the aim to promote tourism by connecting golf with sports, corporate, and economic sectors.

He emphasized previous initiatives like holding events in the Everest region at 4,450 meters and in Pokhara during low tourism seasons, proving the power of combining golf with broader developmental goals.

Gokarna Golf Club President Suhriday Ghimire also praised the tournament for connecting golf to international political, economic, and tourism sectors.
