Nepal was defeated by Bangladesh by 5 wickets in the ongoing ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in Malaysia. Bangladesh successfully chased down Nepal’s target of 53 runs in 13.2 overs, losing 5 wickets in the process.
Nepal, after losing the toss, was asked to bat first in Saturday’s match. The team was all out for just 52 runs in 18.2 overs.
Bangladesh’s Janathan Maola took 2 wickets, while Anisa Sowa, Foyomodi Choya, and Nishita Akter each took 1 wicket.
In reply, Bangladesh’s Sadia Islam scored the highest with 16 runs. Sumaiya Akter contributed 12 runs, while Afia Ashima Ira remained not out with 9 runs. Janatul Maula was not out on 5, and Sumaiya Akter Suboma made 4 runs before getting out.
For Nepal, Simana KC, Puja Mahto, Riya Sharma, and Rachana Chaudhary took 1 wicket each. Nepal will play their second match against Scotland on Monday.
