Nepal suffered a narrow 5-run defeat against Thailand in the Women’s T20I Tri-Series at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur on Tuesday.
Batting first, Thailand posted a total of 106 runs for the loss of six wickets in the allotted 20 overs. In response, Nepal fell just short, managing 101 runs for eight wickets in their 20 overs.
Nepal’s batting lineup saw contributions from Rubina Chhetry (26), Kabita Joshi (24), Roma Thapa (19), and Puja Mahato (18). Samjhana Khadka (5), Indu Barma (3), and Rachana Chaudhary (2) also added runs but couldn’t steer Nepal to victory.
Thailand’s Thipatcha Putthawong was the standout bowler, claiming four wickets, while Phannita Maya took two, playing a crucial role in restricting Nepal from reaching the target.
