Nepal Police Club has reached the final of the ongoing 24th Aaha Rara Pokhara Gold Cup. In Wednesday’s semifinal match, which was also the tournament’s 250th game, Police secured a hard-fought victory against Church Boys United.
The winning goal came from Sanjiv Lama in the 58th minute. He struck a powerful shot from 25 yards out, catching the goalkeeper off guard. The ball slipped past Church Boys’ keeper Tikendra Thapa, who was unable to react in time.
This victory marks a special moment for Nepal Police Club, as it was their 50th match in Aaha Rara Pokhara Gold Cup history. The team has now reached the tournament final for the first time since 2019. This will be their 11th final appearance, having won the title six times and finished as runners-up four times.
Nepal Police Club will now face the winner of the second semifinal between Three Star Club and Black Bulls FC in the final showdown.
