The Nepal U-19 football team has returned home on Tuesday after competing in the SAFF U-19 Championship held in India. The team was warmly welcomed by All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) officials at Tribhuvan International Airport.
Nepal reached the semifinals of the SAFF U-19 Championship but were knocked out by the defending champions Bangladesh with a narrow 2-1 defeat. Although the team had high hopes of lifting the trophy, they fell short of making it to the final this time.
In the group stage, Nepal started strong by defeating Sri Lanka 5-0 in their opening match. However, they suffered a heavy 4-0 loss against the host nation India in their second game, which impacted their chances of progressing smoothly.
Despite the setback, Nepal showed fighting spirit throughout the tournament and gained valuable experience for future competitions. The team and supporters remain hopeful for better results in upcoming international events.
