The country is currently experiencing the effects of westerly winds and a low-pressure system. According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, partial to moderate cloud cover is observed in Sudurpashchim Province, while other provinces are seeing partly to mostly cloudy skies. Some areas in the Terai region are also experiencing fog.
During the day, the weather is expected to remain partly to moderately cloudy across the country. Light and scattered rain is possible in some hilly areas of Gandaki, Bagmati, and Koshi provinces, and isolated areas in other regions.
In the higher hills and mountainous areas, light snowfall is likely in parts of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as in Sudurpashchim and Karnali provinces.
At night, the weather will generally clear up in most areas, except for partial cloud cover in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces. Light rain is possible in isolated areas of Koshi Province, with light snowfall expected in higher hills and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.
Similarly, Sudurpashchim and Karnali provinces may see scattered light rain and light snowfall in some high-altitude areas.
The Meteorology Department has advised caution as light snowfall and rainfall in these regions may impact daily life, health, transportation, and flight operations. Residents and travelers are urged to take necessary precautions.
