The Nepali women’s national football team’s dream of winning their first title remained unfulfilled on Wednesday. In the final of the Four Nations Cup held at Dasharath Stadium, Myanmar defeated Nepal 2-0.
Despite Nepal’s complete control over the game, the team failed to capitalize on their dominance, and Myanmar scored twice within two minutes in the second half.
Yu Par Kin gave Myanmar the lead in the 62nd minute. Trailing by one goal, Nepal came under additional pressure, and Geeta Rana scored an own goal in the 64th minute. While attempting to block a shot from Win, Geeta mistakenly directed the ball into her own post. In the 70th minute, Rashmi Kumari’s shot was saved by Myanmar’s goalkeeper, Myo Mya Mya.
