NEPSE Index Falls by 33.08 Points with NPR 567 Crore Turnover

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index saw a decline of 33.08 points today. The NEPSE index dropped by 1.26 percent, settling at 2,576.50 points.

A total of 131,74,379 shares of 308 companies were traded 69,923 times, amounting to a transaction value of NPR 567 Crore.

The financial sector experienced the steepest drop in share prices, declining by 5.19 percent. Similarly, the development banking sector decreased by 2.77 percent, while the trading sector fell by 0.97 percent.

The banking sector dropped by 0.92 percent, hotels and tourism by 1.38 percent, hydropower by 1.73 percent, investment by 0.08 percent, life insurance by 0.65 percent, manufacturing and processing by 1.51 percent, microfinance by 1.41 percent, mutual funds by 0.38 percent, and non-life insurance by 0.95 percent. However, the “Others” sector sub-index saw a slight increase of 0.06 percent.

Shares of Support Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited, Janaki Finance Company Limited, and Pokhara Finance Limited hit the negative circuit breaker today. On the other hand, NADEP Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited recorded the highest gain, with its share price rising by 4.01 percent.

Based on transaction volume and number of shares traded, Prabhu Bank Limited topped the list with 1,508,557 shares traded, amounting to NPR 359.49 million.
