In the first match of the Women’s Triangular International T20 series, Nepal was defeated by the Netherlands by 20 runs.
The match was held at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground in Kirtipur on Thursday. With this win, the Netherlands added two points to the points table.
The Netherlands set a target of 158 runs, and Nepal could only manage 137 runs in 20 overs, losing 7 wickets.
For the Netherlands, Robine Rijke scored the highest with 59 runs, facing 48 balls and hitting 8 boundaries. She remained not out. Sterre Kalis scored 29, Heather Siegers made 23, and Iris Zwilling added 31 runs.
For Nepal, Kavita Kunwar, Puja Mahato, Ishwari Bista, and Sita Rana Magar took one wicket each.
Chasing the target of 158, Sita Rana Magar was Nepal’s highest scorer with 28 runs. Other notable contributions came from Samjhana Khadka (9), captain Indu Barma (7), Kavita Kunwar (8), Rubina Chettri (11), Pooja Mahato (24), and Kavita Joshi (27).
For the Netherlands, Caroline de Lange and Eva Lynch each took 2 wickets, while Iris Zwilling and Frederique Overdijk took 1 wicket each.
