₹21 Crore But No Watchman?’ Akashdeep Takes a Dig at Saif-Kareena

Director-actor Akashdeep Sabir and his wife, Sheeba, recently commented on the knife attack involving Saif Ali Khan, taking a dig at the couple’s security arrangements. Speaking with Lehren Retro, Akashdeep sarcastically remarked that despite Kareena Kapoor Khan’s high earnings, she couldn’t afford a watchman outside their home.

Pay Disparity in Bollywood

During the conversation, Akashdeep and Sheeba also discussed the ongoing debate about pay parity in the film industry. Sheeba pointed out that male actors bear a greater impact from a film’s failure, which is why they are often paid more than female actors. Akashdeep countered by saying that pay disparity started becoming more apparent when Kareena began demanding double-figure fees for her roles, highlighting the significant gap between male and female actors’ earnings.

Akashdeep’s Remarks on Saif-Kareena’s Security

Akashdeep didn’t hold back while discussing the lack of security at Saif and Kareena’s residence, sarcastically stating, “Even with a ₹21 crore price tag, Kareena couldn’t afford a security guard outside her house. Maybe when you pay them ₹100 crore, they will finally have proper security or at least a night-time driver.”

Further questioning the absence of a full-time driver and security personnel, he added, “People argue that their building has 30 CCTV cameras, but how does a camera stop a robbery? It only helps in solving the crime, not preventing it. Just because there are cameras doesn’t mean the place is secure.”

Support for the Couple

Despite his critical remarks, Akashdeep concluded by expressing concern for the couple, stating, “Saif and Kareena have been through a lot. We should let them recover in peace.”

Saif Ali Khan’s Attack & Recovery

Saif Ali Khan was attacked by an intruder at his Bandra residence in Mumbai on January 16 during an attempted robbery. The 54-year-old actor suffered multiple stab wounds and underwent emergency surgery. He was discharged four days later and has since resumed public appearances, recently attending a Netflix event where he said it felt “nice to be standing” before an audience again.
