Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, husband of tennis star Serena Williams, has bought a 10% stake in Chelsea Women’s football team. The Women’s Super League champions announced the investment on Wednesday, with Ohanian also joining the club’s board.

According to British reports, Alexis Ohanian paid around £20 million ($26.5 million) for his share in Chelsea Women. Though the club has not officially commented, Ohanian made the announcement on social media, highlighting his ongoing commitment to women’s sports.
“I’ve bet big on women’s sports before — and I’m doing it again,” Ohanian said. “I’m honored for the chance to help this iconic club become America’s favorite (Women’s Super League) team and much, much more.”

Before this deal, Alexis Ohanian was a founding investor of Angel City FC, a National Women’s Soccer League club based in Los Angeles. His investment in Chelsea Women strengthens his role as a key backer of women’s football internationally.
