An ambulance accident on the Budhiganga section of the Koshi Highway in Morang has resulted in the death of the driver.
According to the Morang District Traffic Police Office, the accident occurred on Saturday night in front of Mahalaxmi Wire at Budhiganga Rural Municipality-3 along the Koshi Highway. The ambulance, bearing registration number Ko 1 Cha 4774 and belonging to Manmaya Shrestha Memorial Foundation Morang, met with an accident, leading to the death of 24-year-old driver Ashish Rai.
Rai, who was seriously injured in the accident, was admitted to Birat Teaching Hospital for treatment but succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
The deceased driver was originally from Panchawati, Udayapur, and had been residing in Budhiganga-2, Morang. Police suspect that high speed may have been the cause of the accident. It is yet to be determined where the ambulance was headed.
