After nearly 20 days of silence and posting only blank messages, Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan returned to X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday morning with a deeply emotional note. The 82-year-old actor broke his silence with a powerful Hindi message about the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam and praised India’s counter-strike, Operation Sindoor.

Recalling the Pahalgam Attack
Bachchan opened his post by recalling the tragic events of April 22 in Pahalgam, where 26 people, mostly tourists including one from Nepal, were killed in a terrorist attack. He narrated the horrifying incident from the perspective of a woman who saw her husband shot dead in front of her.
In the post, he described how the woman begged the terrorist to spare her husband. When her pleas failed and her husband was shot, she asked the attacker to kill her too. The terrorist reportedly refused and told her to go back and tell others about what had happened.
“Operation Sindoor” and Salute to the Indian Army
Bachchan then linked this emotional pain to a poetic line by his late father, Harivansh Rai Bachchan, referring to sindoor (a red mark traditionally worn by married Hindu women). He ended the message by praising India’s precision military operation across the border, calling it “Operation Sindoor,” and saluted the Indian Army with the words:
“Jai Hind, Jai Hind Ki Sena. You shall never stop, never turn back, never bow down.”
Celebrities Unite in Support
With this post, Amitabh Bachchan joined many Bollywood stars like Aamir Khan, Ranveer Singh, Sidharth Malhotra, Kangana Ranaut, Janhvi Kapoor, Rajinikanth, Mammootty, and Emraan Hashmi, who also condemned the Pahalgam attack and supported India’s military response on May 7. According to reports, the operation destroyed nine terror camps.
Ceasefire Briefly Announced, But Quickly Broken
On Saturday evening, India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri announced that both India and Pakistan had agreed to a ceasefire, starting at 5 PM. However, within three hours, Pakistan violated the agreement by launching attacks at multiple Indian locations, including Srinagar.
