The Australian cricket team arrived in Pakistan on Monday to participate in the highly anticipated ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The tournament is set to commence on Wednesday, February 19, with the opening match between hosts Pakistan and New Zealand at the National Bank Cricket Arena in Karachi.

Defending champions Pakistan, who clinched the title in 2017 by defeating arch-rivals India in the final in the UK, are aiming for another strong campaign on home soil.

Australia’s Arrival and Match Schedule

The Australian squad landed in Lahore in two separate groups. The first batch, comprising captain Steve Smith, coaches, and support staff, arrived from Colombo via Dubai. The second group, including 15 players and two additional support staff members, followed the same route and arrived later in the day.

As per the hybrid model agreement, India will play all their matches in Dubai, while Australia has opted out of warm-up games, having recently played a two-match ODI series against Sri Lanka, which they lost 2-0.

Australia will begin their Champions Trophy campaign with a high-stakes clash against traditional rivals England on February 22 at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. Their next matches include:

  • February 25 – vs South Africa at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium
  • February 28 – vs Afghanistan at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore

Squad: Sean Abbott, Alex Carey, Ben Dwarshuis, Nathan Ellis, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Aaron Hardie, Travis Head, Josh Inglis, Spencer Johnson, Marnus Labuschagne, Glenn Maxwell, Tanveer Sangha, Matthew Short, Adam Zampa.
