A sad motorcycle accident took the life of a police assistant sub-inspector in Morang while his wife and two-year-old son were seriously injured.
The accident happened around 8 PM on Saturday at a diversion near Dans Khola Bridge in Kanepokhari Rural Municipality-7. The victim, 31-year-old Jitendra Chaudhary from Belbari-4, was working at Jamuna Police Post in Ilam. He was riding with his wife and son on a motorcycle (Pr 1–02–043 Pa 2471), returning from Pathari towards Kanepokhari when the vehicle lost control and crashed.
His wife, 26-year-old policewoman Bimala Dhimal Chaudhary, and their toddler son Jason Chaudhary, were both seriously injured. They are now being treated at Nobel Medical College in Biratnagar, as per Morang District Police Office.
In a separate accident on the same day, a pickup truck carrying poultry feed overturned near Sansarimai, Rangeli Municipality-7, along the Hulaki Highway.
The driver, 45-year-old Chetraj Khanal from Biratnagar-8, died at the scene. The pickup (Ko 2 Cha 1300) was heading toward Aambari from Biratnagar.
Three passengers—Ram Rajbanshi (23), Chhatra Parajuli (21), and Dipesh Paudel (32)—suffered minor injuries, police confirmed.
