BTS members V (Kim Tae-hyung) and Jungkook will now continue their legal battle against YouTuber Sojang after a court-led mediation failed to produce a settlement. The discussion, held on July 21 at Seoul Western District Court, ended without an agreement, meaning the case will proceed to trial.

According to Korean media outlet Star Today, the court officially declared the mediation attempt unsuccessful. This session was meant to help both sides avoid a long trial, but with no mutual resolution reached, the court has resumed regular trial procedures.

The case began in January 2025 when V and Jungkook sued Sojang for defamation and unauthorised content use. In February, the court initially ruled in their favour and ordered Sojang to pay 76 million KRW (about $53,000)—a reduced amount from the original 90 million KRW, considering Sojang’s remorse and first-time offense.

Sojang, who runs the controversial channel Taldeok Camp, was found to have uploaded 23 defamatory videos targeting the BTS duo between October 2021 and June 2023. She has also previously lost similar defamation cases filed by IVE’s Jang Wonyoung and former Wanna One member Kang Daniel.

As the legal proceedings continue, fans have shown strong support for V and Jungkook, praising their commitment to fighting online hate and defamation.
