Official Reactions

Aathbiskot Municipality Mayor, Rabi KC, confirmed that the land office’s name was removed from the digital board and replaced with a different display. “Yes, the board has been hacked,” he said.

Land Office Chief, Man Agri, mentioned that he was out of the office but had received information about the board being altered.

Municipality Information Officer, Indra Bahadur Bista, said that an investigation is ongoing. The matter has been reported to the District Administration Office and concerned investigation agencies.

Similar Incident in Bharatpur

A few days ago, the signboard of the Nepal Electricity Authority’s office in Bharatpur was also hacked. It displayed slogans against the Prime Minister.

Authorities are now looking into both cases to find those responsible and prevent further incidents.
