Elon Musk has once again changed his display name on the social platform X. After using the name ‘Grokklun Rust’ for a short time, Musk updated it to ‘Kekius Maximus’. His new profile picture shows him in armor with the text “Emperor Kekius Maximus” written on it. He hasn’t explained the reason behind the name change or the new photo.
Meme Coin Price Soars After Musk’s Move
Soon after Musk changed his name, a meme coin named ‘Kekius Maximus’ surged over 145% in value. According to CoinMarketCap, its price saw a sharp rise, jumping over 273% around 9:15 AM on Saturday (local time). This sudden increase brought big attention to the coin in the crypto world.
Not the First Time ‘Kekius Maximus’ Gained from Musk
Interestingly, this isn’t the first time Musk used the name. Back in December 2024, he had already switched his X name to ‘Kekius Maximus’. That time, he also used a creative image of the ‘Pepe the Frog’ meme as a warrior holding a video game joystick.
After that change, the Kekius meme coin price had skyrocketed by 900% according to data from Coingecko. But once Musk reverted to his old name and avatar, the coin’s price dropped down to $0.001165.

This recent surge proves Musk’s continued influence on meme coins and the crypto community. Even a simple display name change by him can create major waves in the market.
