TV star Divyanka Tripathi recently found herself at the center of social media backlash after a funny moment on the set of Laughter Chefs 2: Unlimited Entertainment took an unexpected twist.
While appearing on the show ahead of its finale, Divyanka greeted fellow guest Elvish Yadav with a cheerful “Hi Samarth,” mistaking him for Samarth Jurel. The goof-up sent everyone on set, including Aly Goni and Krushna Abhishek, into fits of laughter. Divyanka quickly apologized and jokingly asked for the clip to be edited out to avoid trolling.
Despite her light-hearted response, the clip sparked harsh reactions from a section of Elvish’s fanbase online.
Responding to the trolling, Divyanka took to social media and wrote:
“I want to thank genuine Elvish fans for being nice. True fans keep their idol’s respect in mind. Double thanks to the trollers for increasing my engagement. My inner systumm automatically bounces back your foul language. Karma! Those being nice shall always be blessed… says my core divinity!”
Showing maturity and support, Bigg Boss OTT 2 winner Elvish Yadav stepped in to calm the situation. Posting on X (formerly Twitter), he said:
“Guys, I don’t use social media much & I’m confused about why people are trolling Divyanka. But guys, she’s super chill & deserves respect! My request: please stop trolling her. Let’s spread kindness instead.”
Divyanka also clarified that she doesn’t blame all Elvish fans, only the fake ones spreading hate.
“Elvish galat nahi nazar aa raha hai. Only the fake followers spreading negativity are bad. There are some good ones too. This is something me and my fans know very well. Also, this episode serves me in no manner, good or bad! I have earned respect in years for a reason.”
Fans have since praised both Divyanka and Elvish for their graceful handling of the situ
