A fire in Makhan Tole, Ward No. 24 of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, has killed one person.
According to Kathmandu Police spokesperson Apil Raj Bohora, a woman died in the fire, but her identity has not been confirmed yet.
The fire started in a four-story house owned by Dayaram Shrestha, located behind Suraj Arcade in Makhan Galli. Police said the fire began on the third floor of the house, which was made of mud and wood, due to a gas leak.
The fire also spread to a nearby five-story concrete house owned by Rukesh Shrestha.
To control the fire, six fire trucks from Kathmandu and Lalitpur were used. The Nepal Army, Armed Police Force, Nepal Police, and Metropolitan Police were all involved in putting out the fire.
