As part of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza war, Hamas is preparing to release four Israeli female soldiers who were taken hostage on October 7, 2023.
Israel has confirmed receiving a list of names of the hostages set to return home. However, neither side has specified how many Palestinians will be released from Israeli detention if everything proceeds as planned.
According to the Israeli Hostage and Missing Families Forum, those set to be released include Karina Ariev, Daniela Gilboa, Naama Levy, and Liri Albag. While Albag was 19 years old during captivity, all others are Israelis above the age of 20.
This exchange is part of the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, which came into effect last Sunday and aims to pave the way for a permanent end to the conflict.
