Indian rally rider Harith Noah is set to return to competitive racing after a four-month break. He will be back in action at the first-ever South African Safari Rally, which begins this Sunday. The event is Round 3 of the 2025 FIA FIM World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC).
Noah had to pull out of the Dakar Rally earlier this year after a crash left him with a fractured wrist. “After Dakar, I needed time to recover from the injury, but everything went well and I’m back to full fitness now,” he said. “This is my first race since the crash, so I’m definitely a bit nervous, which is normal.”
Harith Noah New Challenge in South Africa
The South African Safari Rally is new for all competitors, making it a fresh challenge. “The route is unfamiliar for everyone. The key is to stay calm, get used to the bike again, and take it one kilometre at a time,” Noah added.
This marks the first time that the W2RC is being held in South Africa. Known for its extreme terrain and fast-changing weather, the event is expected to become a highlight of the rally calendar.
W2RC 2025: A Global Test of Endurance
The 2025 W2RC season includes five rounds spread across three continents. It began with the famous Dakar Rally in Saudi Arabia, followed by the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge. Now, riders head into new territory in South Africa.
The season will wrap up with two more races later this year — the BP Ultimate Rally Raid in Portugal this September, and the Rallye du Maroc in October.
