The Center for Nepalese Culture and Nepal Center UK organized the Himalayan Award ceremony at the House of Lords in Westminster, UK. This award was given to seven individuals in recognition of their outstanding contributions to culture, tourism, innovation, and social service.
The award recipients included Kishor Kayastha (Nepal), Rubina Sharma (Belgium), Devi Garbuja (Portugal), Dr. Vinita Kapoor (India), Rajesh Regmi (UK), Sneha Shrestha (UK), and Sumant Batra (India).
During the event, Baroness Verma, a member of the House of Lords, presented the awards and spoke about Nepal’s rich cultural diversity. She emphasized how Nepal’s heritage could be transformed into a driver for social and economic development.
Barrister Sneha Shrestha, one of the award recipients, highlighted Nepal’s breathtaking natural beauty and diverse cultural heritage. She encouraged people to visit Nepal and experience its uniqueness.
The event also included speeches from distinguished guests, including Greenwich Mayor Councillor Jeet Ranabhat and Lieutenant Colonel Tol Khamcha, who shared their thoughts on the significance of cultural recognition and collaboration.
