Home Ministry Calls Emergency Meeting to Probe Spain Visa Scandal

Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has called an emergency meeting to investigate the recent controversy surrounding individuals who were issued visas to attend a UN program in Spain.

The meeting, set to take place at 1:30 PM today at the Ministry of Home Affairs, will include key officials such as Home Secretary Gokarna Mani Duwadi, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Deepak Thapa, CIB Chief Chandra Kuber Khapung, Anti-Human Trafficking Bureau Chief Krishna Pangeni, and Immigration Department Head Govinda Rijal.

According to a ministry source, the meeting will focus on investigating which NGO or INGO may have illegally collected money and facilitated unauthorized travel of individuals to Spain under the guise of UN program participation.

Minister Lekhak earlier this morning summoned Secretary Duwadi and IGP Thapa and directed them to begin a formal investigation into the matter.
