Popular Indian comedian Kapil Sharma, along with actor Rajpal Yadav, choreographer Remo D’Souza, and comedian Sugandha Mishra, has reportedly received death threats via email. Indian media reported that the emails originated from Pakistan.
The email stated: “We are keeping an eye on your activities. We have brought a sensitive matter to your attention. This is not a public stunt or an attempt to trouble you. We request you to take this very seriously and maintain confidentiality.”
The email further warned: “If you fail to do so, it could affect your professional and personal life. We want a reply within the next eight hours. If you do not respond, we will assume you are not taking this seriously and take action against you. We are not associated with Bishnoi.”
Mumbai Police have registered a case under Section 351(3) of the IPC against an unidentified person and have begun their investigation. However, no official statements have been released by Kapil Sharma, Rajpal Yadav, or Remo D’Souza.
According to reports, Kapil Sharma filed a complaint after receiving the email. Remo D’Souza and Sugandha Mishra had also lodged complaints after receiving similar emails. Rajpal Yadav reportedly received the email on December 14 last year, but it went to his spam folder. He filed a police complaint on December 17.
