The world’s most popular franchise cricket league, the Indian Premier League (IPL), is starting its 18th season today in India.
The opening match will be played between defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). The game will begin at 7:45 PM Nepali time at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
Before the match, famous artists will perform at the opening ceremony. Actress Disha Patani and singer Shreya Ghoshal are among the performers.

KKR, who won their third IPL title last season by defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad in the final, will aim to start strong and defend their title.
Meanwhile, RCB, which has never won the IPL title, will once again compete with a new captain, hoping to lift the trophy for the first time.
Since the IPL began in 2008, Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings have been the most successful teams, each winning five titles.
Kolkata has won three titles, while Deccan Chargers, Rajasthan Royals, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Gujarat Titans have each won once.
