The death toll from the LPG tanker accident on the Jaipur-Ajmer national highway on Friday rose to 18 by Wednesday, with three more burn victims succumbing to their injuries. Vijeta Meena, a 23-year-old BEd student from Pratapgarh district, had suffered 70% burns. She was returning to Jaipur after appearing for an examination in Udaipur when the accident occurred. Another victim, Vijendra, a 36-year-old truck driver from Paota in Kotputli, sustained 60% burns. He was transporting goods from Ajmer to Neemrana when his truck became engulfed in flames at Bhankrota.
The third victim, Banshi Lal, aged 35, from Bhilwara, also suffered severe burns, with 65% of his body affected. These tragic deaths add to the growing toll from the deadly accident, which has left many others battling life-threatening injuries. The investigation into the cause of the fire and the accident is still ongoing.
