Actor Jannat Zubair is feeling extremely lucky and grateful as she celebrates Eid in Medina, Saudi Arabia. She describes it as a “dream come true.”
This year, Eid is extra special for Jannat because it’s the first time she is celebrating it in Medina. She shared, “Usually, I spend Eid at home with family and friends, but this year, it’s different. We are celebrating in Medina for the first time. It has always been a dream, and now it feels unreal. We’re so excited about it.” She added, “I feel very thankful, blessed, and lucky. I can’t wait to see what this Eid will be like, especially since it’s the first time we are celebrating it outside our home.”
Talking about her usual Eid traditions, the 23-year-old actress said, “One of the most important things for me on Eid is applying mehendi, especially when the moon is sighted. Mehendi is an important part of the celebrations, and it adds to the festive spirit.” She also mentioned, “And of course, there’s the Eid shopping – choosing outfits and gifts for everyone.”
Jannat also shared about a special dish she looks forward to every Eid, which is made by her father. “There are many dishes made at home, but one that I always wait for is kemami sevai. Most people make doodh ki sevai, but my father is from Lucknow and has been eating this orange-colored sevai since he was a child. He makes it every Eid, and it has become a must-have for us.”
When it comes to her outfits, Jannat loves experimenting with different styles for Eid. “I like to wear something new each year because it keeps things fresh and fun. But I don’t like heavy outfits. I prefer something comfortable, elegant, and unique,” she explained.
Jannat also shared her favorite Eid tradition – giving and receiving Eidi. “We usually ask our elders for Eidi, which is money given as a gift. When I was younger, I didn’t give Eidi to anyone, and no one expected it from me. But now, while I still receive Eidi, I also give it. This balance has made Eid even more special for me,” she said, adding, “This Eid, I feel incredibly blessed for all the love around me and the opportunities I have.”
