Koshi Province Victory Over Gandaki

Koshi Province claimed a comfortable 9-wicket win against Gandaki Province in the ongoing Prime Minister Cup Men’s Cricket Tournament on Sunday.

The match, held at Extratech Oval in Bhairahawa, saw Gandaki struggle with the bat, managing only 31 runs in 20.4 overs. Koshi’s bowlers dominated, with Bipin Mahato leading the charge by taking six wickets for just 17 runs in his eight-over spell. Firdosh Ansari also shined with three wickets, while Dipesh Kandel picked up one.

Gandaki’s batting lineup collapsed, with only Bansh Chhetri reaching double digits, scoring 10 runs. Three of their batters were dismissed without scoring.

Chasing a modest target of 32 runs, Koshi reached the total in 8.2 overs while losing just one wicket. Shakib Haq remained unbeaten with 16 runs, Chirag Shah contributed 10, and Sonu Ansari added four runs to seal the victory.

This win was particularly special for Koshi, as they avenged their humiliating loss to Gandaki last year. In their previous encounter on January 21, 2024, Koshi had been bowled out for just 25 runs while chasing 167 at Mulpani Cricket Ground.

This time, however, Koshi dominated the game and secured their first win of the tournament in style.
