(PSG) Paris Saint-Germain took another huge step toward securing their 13th Ligue 1 title with a dominant 6-1 victory over Saint-Etienne on Saturday. The win extended PSG’s unbeaten run, leaving them needing just one more point to officially claim the championship.
Earlier in the day, Marseille’s 3-1 loss to Reims meant that PSG had the chance to seal the title if Monaco failed to win against Nice. Monaco were level at 1-1 until the 73rd minute but eventually secured a 2-1 victory, delaying PSG’s celebrations. However, with a 21-point lead at the top and seven games remaining, a draw against Angers next weekend will be enough for PSG to lift the trophy.
Saint-Etienne started brightly and took the lead when Lucas Stassin headed in a well-placed cross from Zuriko Davitashvili. PSG responded late in the first half, equalizing through a penalty from Gonçalo Ramos. After the break, the league leaders took complete control, producing an attacking masterclass. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia put PSG ahead before Désiré Doué added two quick goals.

João Neves extended the lead further, and 17-year-old substitute Ibrahim Mbaye capped off the dominant display with his first goal for the club in the final minute.
Saint-Etienne, currently struggling in 17th place, had no answers for PSG’s relentless second-half performance. The visitors dominated possession and had twice as many shot attempts as their opponents. While Saint-Etienne managed a few promising attacks early on, PSG’s quality ultimately proved too much to handle.
