On June 13, MC Mong, executive producer and co-founder of One Hundred Label, officially stepped down from his duties citing personal reasons. His sudden departure has sparked speculation about possible links to the recent controversy surrounding Ju Hak Nyeon, a member of the boy group The Boyz.
On June 18, One Hundred Label announced that Ju Hak Nyeon would be excluded from all future activities with The Boyz. This decision came in response to a report by the Japanese magazine Shūkan Bunshun, which alleged that Ju Hak Nyeon had been seen at a private Tokyo bar last month in the company of acquaintances and former adult film actress Asuka Kirara. The report highlighted affectionate interactions between Ju Hak Nyeon and Kirara, which stirred public controversy.
MC Mong, who co-founded One Hundred Label alongside Chairwoman Cha Ga Won and also serves as an internal director at BPM Entertainment, a subsidiary of the label, has remained silent amid mounting speculation. Some observers have questioned whether MC Mong was involved in or present at the gathering mentioned in the report, although no confirmation has been provided.
The agency revealed that they had become aware of the issue prior to its public disclosure. On June 16, two days before the news broke, One Hundred Label decided to terminate Ju Hak Nyeon’s exclusive contract and suspend his activities. The company stated, “Due to personal issues involving Ju Hak Nyeon, we have decided to suspend his activities. After thorough discussions, we reached a final decision on his departure from the group and contract termination.”
Ju Hak Nyeon gained recognition through Mnet’s ‘Produce 101 Season 2’ in April 2017 and debuted with The Boyz in December of that year.
As of now, MC Mong has not issued any public statement addressing the situation or the allegations.
