A boy who had been missing since Wednesday in Dhanusha has been found dead in a nearby pond.
The deceased has been identified as 7-year-old Sachin Kapar, son of Khusiya Kapar of Sabaila Municipality-10, Khariyani.
According to Dhanusha police spokesperson DSP Barun Bahadur Singh, the child was found floating in the pond near his house around 10 AM on Thursday.
Sachin had gone out to play at around 11 AM on Wednesday and did not return. After a search operation, his body was recovered from the pond on Thursday morning.
Police suspect that the boy entered the pond to cool off and drowned. The District Police Office, Dhanusha, said further investigation into the incident is underway.
