On Tuesday, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index reached 2,626 points, marking an increase of 14.11 points compared to the previous day. During the trading session, the NEPSE index peaked at 2,645 points at 12:25 PM.
The total trading amount also saw an increase. While the turnover was NPR 4.43 billion the previous day, it rose to NPR 5.2 billion on Tuesday. Out of 167 companies, 71 saw a decrease in their stock prices, while 6 remained unchanged.
In terms of sectors, the production sector decreased by 2.32%, and the trade sector dropped by 0.45%. However, all other sectors saw positive growth. Development banks experienced the highest growth, with a 1.75% increase. Other sectors showing positive changes include banking (0.76%), finance (1.62%), hotels and tourism (0.94%), hydropower (0.71%), investment (0.96%), life insurance (0.28%), microfinance (0.95%), non-life insurance (0.56%), and others (0.49%).
Among individual companies, self-reliant microfinance, Gurans Microfinance, and Community Microfinance saw a 10% increase in their stock prices. Nyadi Hydropower saw an 8.6% rise, and Sapta Koshi Development Bank’s value increased by 7.5%.
On the other hand, Support Microfinance, Janaki Finance, and Unilever Nepal saw a decline of 10%, 8%, and 7.2%, respectively. In terms of trading volume, Janaki Finance, Joshi Hydropower, Nepal Finance, Mountain Energy Nepal, and Nyadi Hydropower were the top performers.
