Nepal Super League 2025 continues to make headlines as Dhangadhi FC announced the signing of Spanish goalkeeper Walid Birrou for the third edition of the tournament. The club shared this exciting update through an official statement on Wednesday. With two Nepali goalkeepers already on their roster, Dhangadhi added international experience by bringing in Birrou.
Dhangadhi FC’s Goalkeeping Squad
Previously, Dhangadhi secured Jiyarat Sheikh, who has played for Nepal’s youth national teams, during the auction. Additionally, they picked Santosh Mahat through the C-category draft. The addition of Walid Birrou now completes a strong goalkeeping lineup.

Walid Birrou’s Football Career
Walid Birrou recently won the championship in the Philippines Football League, where he played a key role for Kaya FC. He had the most clean sheets in the league, helping his team to victory. His career also includes appearances in Gibraltar’s first division, Iceland, and Morocco’s second division leagues.
Foreign Signings at Dhangadhi FC
Birrou is the fourth foreign player signed by Dhangadhi for the current season. The club had already signed Mohamed El Jaouani (midfielder from Morocco), Afeez Olawale Oladipo (Nigerian star), and Ahmad Hijazi (Lebanese forward). Both Olawale and Hijazi were part of the club last season and continue their journey with Dhangadhi.
