Pingalasthan Woman's Death Case

In the case of the young woman’s death at Bagmati Hotel in Pingalasthan, Kathmandu, initial investigations show that the woman had been staying with a young man.

The 21-year-old woman, Sushmita Khadka, from Kageshwori Manohara, was found dead. She and the young man had checked into the hotel on New Year’s Eve. The next day, the young man locked the door from the outside and left, telling her, “I’ll be back in a moment.”

When he did not return, the hotel owner contacted the police. The police, with local representatives, broke open the door on Wednesday afternoon and found her body in the bed.

A police officer working on the case said, “The young man locked the door from the outside and left, promising to return. We were alerted when he didn’t come back.”

The police have located the man who fled. The investigation is being handled by the District Police, Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, and Gaushala Police Station.

The investigation is continuing after the woman’s relatives filed a complaint with the Gaushala Police.
