A young police officer has tragically died in Darchula after being struck by a falling rock while cutting grass.
Dipendra Pal, a police constable from Mahakali Municipality-6, was cutting grass at a place called ‘Nisilkothagil’ this morning when a rock fell from above and hit his head. He was seriously injured.
Locals rushed him to Darchula District Hospital, but he passed away during treatment, according to Inspector Chhatra Bahadur Rawat. Pal had returned home on leave just a few days ago.
