Schools Closed for 3 Days in Kapilvastu Due to Extreme Heat

As the heatwave intensifies across the Terai region, Kapilvastu Municipality and Banganga Municipality have announced a three-day closure of all schools due to rising temperatures.

The municipalities have declared a heat break from Sunday to Tuesday, citing concerns over children’s health and the adverse effects of extreme heat on young students.

Chief Administrative Officer of Kapilvastu Municipality, Punarama Paudel, stated that the decision was made considering the potential health risks to children due to the soaring temperatures.

Similarly, Banganga Municipality has also ordered the closure of both community and institutional schools for three days based on the recommendation of the Municipal Education Committee. Mayor Chakrapani Aryal confirmed that the break aims to protect children during the ongoing heatwave, which has significantly affected daily life in recent days.
