National Sports Council Suspends Six Sports Associations

The National Sports Council has decided to suspend six national sports associations. The decision was made during the 121st board meeting held on Thursday, chaired by Minister for Youth and Sports, Teju Lal Chaudhary. According to National Sports Council, these associations were suspended for participating in the unauthorized election of the Nepal Olympic Committee.

The suspended associations include the Nepal Badminton Association, Nepal Tennis Association, Nepal Cycling Association, Nepal Athletics Association, Nepal Gymnastics Association, and Nepal Weightlifting Association. Earlier, National Sports Council’s executive committee had recommended their suspension as a disciplinary action, and the board meeting approved the recommendation.

In addition to this, National Sports Council has also announced new dates for national sports events. The 10th National Games will be held from Jestha 3 to Jestha 10, 2082, while the 1st National Para Games will take place in Kathmandu from Jestha 17 to Jestha 21, 2082.
