Three arrested for allegedly poisoning and killing teacher in Kailali

In a shocking incident from Kailali, police have arrested three individuals accused of poisoning and murdering a school teacher named Jagadish Panta.

Jagadish Panta, a 45-year-old teacher from Dhangadhi, was teaching at Janata Secondary School in Manuwa, Janaki Rural Municipality-4. On Saturday afternoon, he suddenly fell unconscious while having snacks with friends at a local cottage named “Local Station Cottage” on Munuwa Road in Tikapur Municipality-1.

His friends rushed him to Tikapur Hospital, where doctors declared him dead upon arrival.

Following a complaint filed by Pant’s family claiming he was poisoned, police launched an investigation and arrested three people:

  • Lokendra Rawal (36) from Tikapur Municipality-1
  • Sunil Rawal (34) from Amrawati, Janaki Rural Municipality-9
  • Birendra Hamal (32) from Charkhatta, Tikapur Municipality-1

These individuals were reportedly with Pant at the time of the incident.

DSP Rajkumar Singh, the spokesperson of Kailali Police, confirmed the arrests and said that all three suspects are in custody while further investigation is underway. Police are trying to determine the motive and how the poison was administered.
