Mugu, Nepal – Three individuals, including the driver of an excavator, were rescued after their vehicle got stuck in the Karnali River while attempting to cross it.
The incident occurred around 2 PM on Sunday at Jhugola, the border area between Khatyad Rural Municipality of Mugu and Himali Rural Municipality of Bajura. The excavator was being transported from Jumla to Humla when it became trapped in the river.
Upon learning about the situation, local authorities, including Nepal Police and other individuals from both sides of the river, launched a rescue operation. With the help of a boat, all three people were successfully rescued after about three hours of effort.
However, due to a lack of necessary machinery and equipment, the excavator remains stuck in the Karnali River. Authorities are exploring ways to retrieve it.
