A protest in Kathmandu’s Tinkune area turned violent, leading to protesters snatching a firearm from a security officer.
The demonstration, organized by pro-monarchy supporters, escalated when police used tear gas to control the crowd. As tensions rose, a group of protesters managed to seize a gun from a security personnel.
Shortly after the clash, a fire broke out in a house near Tinkune. Firefighters rushed to the scene, but their efforts were hindered as protesters pelted stones at an ambulance that had arrived to assist.
The situation in Tinkune remains tense. SSP Shekhar Khanal from the Valley Police Office, Ranipokhari, stated that security forces are working to bring the situation under control.
