Tribhuvan Army Club has entered the final of the ongoing KP Oli Cup football tournament. In the first semifinal held at Dasharath Stadium on Friday, Army secured their place in the final by defeating Sankata Club 2-1.
Nawayug Shrestha and Dinesh Hemjan scored one goal each for Army’s victory. Nawayug gave Army an early lead in the 7th minute of the match. Dinesh doubled the lead in the 65th minute. Sankata’s Bishan Gurung scored a consolation goal during injury time.
The second semifinal will take place on Saturday between the host team KP FC and Machhindra FC. The final match is scheduled for Falgun 19.
The tournament, organized by the National Youth Association Nepal, featured the participation of nine teams. The winner of the tournament will receive NPR 15,11,111, while the runner-up will be awarded NPR 5,00,000.
Italian World Cup-winning goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon is also coming to Nepal to witness the final match.
