Two people lost their lives in a Bolero pickup accident in Pakhribas, Dhankuta. The vehicle (Ko 1 Ja 2639) crashed at Jautar, Pakhribas Municipality-3, on Thursday night around 9:15 PM, according to the police.
The pickup fell 150 meters off the Pakhribas-Hile road, killing both the driver and the assistant driver. DSP Om Prakash Khanal, the district police spokesperson, confirmed the incident.
The deceased include 39-year-old Shukra Bahadur Tamang from Uttarapani, Pakhribas Municipality-9, who was the driver, and Pramod Malik from Lahan Municipality-5, Siraha, who was the assistant driver. Mallik died on the spot, while Tamang passed away on the way to the district hospital due to severe injuries.
Both bodies have been kept at the district hospital for postmortem. The police are conducting further investigations into the accident.
