WINNER’s Mino Faces Legal Trouble for Skipping Duties

WINNER member Mino has admitted to neglecting his mandatory social service duties, according to a report by Korean media outlet The Fact on March 31. The police have been investigating him for the past three months after suspicions were raised about him skipping work.

Mino was questioned three times by the police. During the third questioning on March 26, he changed his statement and admitted to leaving his workplace during working hours. The National Investigation Headquarters of the National Police Agency confirmed this at a press conference on March 31. The police are now reviewing the evidence, including searches of his home and workplace, to decide whether to press charges.

The investigation started after the Military Manpower Administration filed a formal request at the end of last year, accusing him of violating the Military Service Act. Korean media outlet Dispatch also reported similar claims in January 2025.

Mino allegedly began avoiding his duties after transferring from Mapo Facility Management Corporation to Mapo Resident Convenience Facility in March 2023. He initially denied all accusations on January 24, 2025, saying that he “served normally.”

His agency, YG Entertainment, responded to the situation, stating, “It is difficult to confirm the details of the artist’s military service. However, his sick leave was for ongoing treatment he had before enlisting, and all other vacations were used according to the rules.”

If found guilty, Mino may face legal consequences for violating military service laws.
