Bardiya, Ashar 6 – A tragic accident took the life of 58-year-old Dilsmaya Acharya from Badhaiyatal Rural Municipality-8 after she was hit by a motorcycle. The incident happened around 8:50 PM Thursday night in Tilkana, when Acharya was standing by the roadside.
The motorcycle, driven by 28-year-old Angat Tharu from Rajapur Ward-7, struck her as it was traveling from Kanthpur towards Pachasa. Acharya suffered serious injuries to her head, chest, and left leg.
She was rushed to Neuro Hospital in Nepalgunj and placed on a ventilator. Despite medical efforts, she was declared dead by doctors early Friday morning at around 2:15 AM, confirmed by Inspector Rajesh Kumar Teli of Mainapokhar Police.
The motorcycle driver has been taken into police custody as the investigation continues.
