Rising Chinese actor Ziyu, known for his breakout role in the BL drama Revenged Love, is facing massive backlash following serious personal allegations. Once celebrated by fans, the 2002-born star is now at the center of a scandal involving cheating, emotional manipulation, and disrespect toward supporters.
The controversy started when a woman claiming to be Ziyu’s ex-girlfriend accused him of dishonesty in their relationship and revealed he called his fans “sb” — a disrespectful slang term in Chinese. Ziyu quickly apologized and announced a temporary break from the entertainment industry, but the drama only grew.
On July 24, popular Douyin influencer “Golden Milk Bun” added fuel to the fire. She claimed Ziyu pursued her in late 2024 without disclosing his other relationships. She described him as manipulative — blaming his agency, claiming he was banned from dating, and hiding his romantic affairs. She also said he had been intimate with her friend and never once admitted fault.
Things took a serious turn when Ziyu’s biggest fanclub — supporters who had stood by him since his idol survival show days — announced they were disbanding. In an emotional online post, they wrote, “If we weren’t fools, how could we have liked someone like this?” They also revealed that Ziyu had personally insulted them. The group had already shown signs of pulling away in late 2024, changing their Weibo banner to “Please leave soon” even before the scandal.
Ziyu first gained attention through idol competition shows like The Name of Youth and Youth With You 3, though he didn’t make the final debut team. His real rise to fame came in 2025 with Revenged Love, a drama that captured the hearts of fans — many of whom now feel betrayed.
Whether Ziyu can recover from this storm remains to be seen.
